Learning Goals: to consider how social identity is formed and to practice oral presentation skills
1. Debate: be it resolved that "all human behaviour is acted"
2. Debate debrief
3. Gallery Walk: how do we develop a sense of identity?
4. Group Task: formative research presentation
-> choose a pop culture item (song, tv series, movie, internet meme, etc)
-> in your group, think like sociologists to consider the effect your choice has on its audience
-> also consider the media messages present
-> how does your item reflect the current society?
-> has it been a springboard for other items? (if so, what is the influence and / or how does it reflect current ideologies in society?)
-> put together some sort of visual to go along with your thoughts
