Learning Goals: to consider psychological influences on behaviour and to work on your formal writing skills
* Ms Weir is at an all-day meeting-> you can reach me via Twitter or email*
Please work on the following tasks:
1. Think about your behaviour -> why do you act the way you do? Is your behaviour explainable by biology or are there more factors?
-> discuss your ideas with your peers at your table
-> think about the following ideas: attitude, motivation, social thinking, mental health
-> how can those ideas influence our behaviour?
-> do you think one is more influential or are they all equally influential?
-> choose someone famous (Justin Trudeau, Justin Bieber, etc) and using the four previous ideas, choose an event in which that person was in the media and attempt to explain his or her behaviour -> be prepared to share your thinking with the class on Tuesday when I'm back
2. Watch the following video of a lecture by Dan Pink.

3. After hearing from Dan Pink, do you ideas about the famous person change? Why or why not? If so, how?
4. Open your psychology note (you probably last used it in September). Research and make notes about instinct theory, drive-reduction theory, and negativity bias.
5. Think about how you achieve your personal goals. What means do you use to attain them? Do you set long term and short term goals? Why or why not?
-> using all the learning from today, write a blog post about motivation and goal setting and how you see yourself in this context
6. Work time on Summative 2, blogging, social psych experiments, brainstorming more about learning spaces and the kinds of questions you have about learning
-> feel free to do some research into the science of learning
-> I would recommend reading some blog posts from Dean Shareski, Donna Fry, Mark Carbone and Alec Couros (they are some of the panelists for our event in November)
