1. Research -> look up abnormal socialization in general -> consider both isolates and feral children 2. Discussion with Mr B's class -> poke holes / debate semantics in their questions -> push back to further thinking 3. Online textbook work -> determine groups -> think about what each discipline is and how you would explain it -> remember we cannot plagiarize! -> everything has to be in our own words 4. Read / watch this article on the Huffington Post about Thanksgiving - consider how the holiday has become a tradition in Canada - then consider what it means from a socialization point of view - think about the secondary agents of socialization and explain how they have influenced an entire country's thinking - consider your family (primary agent of socialization) and explain how you celebrate or don't celebrate Thanksgiving - expand it further to include your own ideas about the holiday - please write your thoughts and post them on your weebly site under reading 3. Read this article and discuss your thoughts with the people around you. - consider all the angles (from the author's perspective, from the Chicano perspective, the Toronto Star's, and from your perspective) - how does this article make you feel? why? - do you think this is a good program? why or why not? - what is the implied message about socialization here? (after considering all the perspectives) 4. Find an article related to a celebration you and your primary agent of socialization observes - be prepared to explain how you have been socialized to observe this celebration 5.
